SC-MX20 Camcorder

CrunchGear just found a great deal on a Samsung SC-MX20 camcroder that falls right under the $150 mark. Featuring 16gb of internal storage with an SD expansion slot, 34x optical zoom, 2.7″ LCD screen and an awesome swivel hand strap for those unforgetable “private moments,” the SC-MX20 is a great deal. Doug Amoth, from CrunchGear, gave it great  review back when the device was $250. So, with a $100 bucks off, it can’t be beat. Mr. Reviewer also notes that this badboy also comes with a 3-hour battery life, something all too uncommon in today’s digital camcorders. You can grab the Samsung SC-MX20 online over at Geek.com in either red, blue or black. Oddly enough, the black version is $5 more. But it’s black.

  1. I now love this camcorder, its light, easy to use and the video after being converted on my computer with the right software makes the quality wide screen and crystal clear. First the software that comes with it is called Cyberlink Mediashow and it seems pretty sweet but it won’t allow a 16:9 aspect ratio even when selected. I went through Samsung’s tech support through their level 2 guys who were stumped and I found free software at download.com, “Free Video Converter v 1.3 which updates automatically after installing to v1.4″ and by selecting avi with Xvid 624×352 with 16:9, I got wide screen and great quality, I could have chosen up to 1920×1080 but on my 43″ plasma 624×352 is sweet. I’ve got my 8 and 11 year olds using this camera like pro’s and the videos are worth much more than the camera cost.
Hopefully Cyberlink Mediashow will come up with a patch for their software as it has the potential to be great if they would just fix the aspect ratio issue.

Samsung did a great job with the SC-MX20. I own one and couldn’t be more happy. i’ve used it for trips to Big Bear and on the boat for filming the kids. I would highly recommend it.

  3. Samsung SC-MX20 looks quite simple and decent. It is available in silver with options of blue accents, red accents, black accents or all white. It has a compact design and fits easily in the pocket. The video quality is very mediocre. This camcorder is specially for people looking to buy under a budget. People who have money should not opt for this as there are many better options available. For more details refer http://www.digitaldesires.net/samsung-sc-mx20-inexpensive-but-mediocre-quality.html
