Getting tired of the cute and cuddly look of Mario Kart? Have no fear. Bizarre Creations has a new game coming out for next-gen consoles called Blur which looks to bring the masses a more realistic arcade-style racer. Instead of bananas, shells or red boxes, Blur will have five different power-ups including nitro, shot, shock, barge and mines (see the video after the break for video of each type).

Joystiq has a nice writeup of some of the features in the game which include the ability to shield yourself and dodge. They also noted that Blur will be able to have 20 cars on the track at one time, which will surely make racing intense. There’s also a part on customization which they note is mainly for the effectiveness of the power-ups, not to boost your rides curb appeal. It’s a different take on a genera Nintendo’s dominated for the past couple of years. I’m really excited to see Bizarre Creations’ game and still interested another badass racing game called Split/Second.
