Killer Whale Versus White Shark: Caught On Video

We’ve never seen it before, a killer whale versus a white shark. This video was apparently shown on the National Geographic Channel and it really makes me want to call up Comcast to subscribe to it again. Here’s the low down…

A group of whale watchers were watching two killer whales (what they can only assume was a mother and child) doing what they do best: playing. It was when a large dark shadow caught the eye of one of the watchers is when things turned interesting. As the shadowy figure moved towards the front of the boat the lady could tell it was a great white shark. It hugged the boat, as if using it as camouflage, until it made a abrupt 90-degree turn towards the killer whales. Somehow the mother killer whale saw the sneaky white shark and made a b-line straight for him. Little did the whale watchers know that they’d catch something that was never seen before: a killer whale attacking a white shark.

As the video notes, there were no huge splashes as one would think. No, they simply when down beneath the surface and when they came up killer whale had beaten the white shark. So what did it do with the victory? Eat it of course!

Note: since this is a National Geographic Documentary, obviously they’ll have some reenactments. But, believe me, there is real footage of the killer whale holding the white shark in its mouth.
