Video: Toy Story 3 HD Trailer

February 11, 2010 by Troy

Oh, Toy Story. What fond memories I have of the. It just seems like yesterday when I first saw Toy Story (numero uno). I remember heading to McDonalds asking my dad for a Happy Meal just so I can get the Buzz Lightyear that had auto-open jet wings.

Now here we are today with a brand new story to see — Toy Story 3 to be exact. I don’t think I ever saw the second movie but this one looks just as epic as the first.

‘Shelter’ Is What A Gay Movie Should Be

January 26, 2010 by Troy

Shelter: Zach and Shaun Laying In Bed

It’s not every day you see a gay movie that’s worth watching (sorry to break it to you, gay community). Honestly, most of them [gay movies] are cast or written with stereotypical feminine “twinks” with nothing but sex on their mind. I get it, we like sex; but come on, there’s more to life. For that simple fact, I fell in love with the movie called Shelter. I know, I know — the image above totally looks like they just had sex, but it was just a really cute picture of them. Anyway, this has got to be one of the best gay movies I’ve ever seen. Read more

Step Into Pandora, 22-Minute Behind-The-Scenes Look At ‘Avatar’

January 20, 2010 by Troy

Wonder what James Cameron and the cast of actors were going through while behind-the-scenes of Avatar? Take a look at this video. We all know James and his buddies pushed the boundaries of cinematics but what about the process of movie-making itself? You better believe it.

What’s one of the most interesting things I took out of this video is how the used augmented reality to project the 3D environments and models right onto the real-time footage he was shooting. This enabled Cameron to actually see what each view would look like without having to go through post-production. Seriously insane stuff. Some other neat tid-bits include art, sound design, how they got exact facial expressions on the 3D models and more.

If you have 22 minutes to waste, hit up the read button. Read more

Experience ‘Paranormal Activity’ In Your Home… Minus The Ghosts, Of Course

December 14, 2009 by Troy

paranormal-scare
Have you seen Paranomral Activity? You know, the movie with the comical commercial where everyone gets the bajesus scared out of them? I hear that it’s one of the scariest movies to come along in a while. Oh, and don’t forget that it’s now “The Most Profitable Movie Ever,” making a reported $100 million on a $15,000 budget. Regardless of its apparent cash flow, it has good reviews and the crowds seem to enjoy it.

Anywho, you can grab Paranormal Activity come December 29th and while your at it why not jump into the Sweepstakes? What does it entail? Paramount will come to your home and screen the DVD with an alternate ending — red carpet, press and all. They’ll also throw in a home theatre for good measure.

Full press release after the break. Read more

Relive ‘The Matrix’ With Legos

November 25, 2009 by Troy

Hold up — Lego Matrix? Yes, your eyes do not deceive you. I guess everything seems better when you add legos to the mix. The folks over at LegoMatrix.com have taken the soundtrack from the feature film and applied it to stop-motion animation of legos doing Bullet Time.

If that clips got the geek side of you going, head over to their website. They have section that shows how accurate the stop-motion is to the movie itself. There’s also a “making of” if you’re interested in doing this yourself. Now, if only they’d do the entire movie.

Watch: Prince of Persia Sands Of Time Movie Trailer (Extended Version)

November 2, 2009 by Troy

I saw the old Prince of Persia trailer (the one that featured a not-so lovable Jake Gyllenhaal) and was kind of like, meh. But this new HD extended trailer — it’s, well, something else. I honestly think Disney and Jerry Bruckheimer have something special here. It looks good. Of course, Disney is quick to point out the links to Pirates of the Caribbean, since it made Disney boatloads of money, but I guess the link does give some credibility. Also, I’m glad they stuck with the fast-paced action one would see in the game itself. Wo0t.

Jude Law In Drag

September 19, 2009 by Troy

Jude Law In DragYes, women, I hate to say it but Jude Law has finally crossed the border. He no longer frolics in the hills of heterosexuality but basks in the glow of gay. All kidding aside, it’s actually a photoshoot for his upcoming movie Rage. It’s a movie directed by Sally Potter and starring Jude Law [in drag] where he plays a woman named Minx. It’s said to be a budget flick that was shot like it was taken from a cell phone camera. Huh? Yeah, I don’t get it either. Here’s what the New York Times said about the movie: Read more

With millions of fans all over the world, Twilight: New Moon is already making its way into a lot of wallets. Must Watch: 100-Years Of Special Effects

September 4, 2009 by Troy

This video is awesome. It actually reminds me why I wanted to go to college for special effects animation. Throughout a 100-years, movie makers have done some incredible things. I was actually surprised to see special effects dating back to 1956. Regardless, it’s a must watch. It even shows how they made some of the visuals in Pirates of the Caribbean and how they made Brad Pitt look younger.

Trailer: James Cameron’s ‘Avatar’

August 22, 2009 by Troy

If you haven’t seen the AVATAR trailer, you must live under a rock. Why? Because James Cameron made Titanic, one of the biggest blockbusters of our all time. Oh, and that movie is the only reason why this movie is getting any attention (and believe me, you’ll hear of Titanic in every advertisement). This movie has so much hype your head may explode which is [exactly] why you’re reading it here.

Be prepared… we [humans] end up having sex with lions and go to war over it. At least that’s what I get from the trailer. Read more
