There’s no telling when an animal will attack. While speaking about the migratory habits of certain birds, Walt Crawford was bit in the crotch by a white pelican. I can’t believe he just stood there holding his bits and pieces. I mean, you can hear how loud the smack is when the pelican snaps its beak. To watch it all go down, skip to the 45-second mark.

Newsflash: raptor mascot eats cheerleader alive! Oh noes!

As you can see, the poor cheerleader was just minding her own business doing what she does best: cheering (well, kinda). Unfortunately for her the raptor spotted her lame cheer and we all know raptors go for the weak ones. She was instantly devoured. Local news stations reported seeing her 30 minutes later in the locker room covered in gastric secretions. Apparently the raptor didn’t like her uniform.

Don’t Mess With The Spider, Daddy

I swear, there are so many animal videos on the interwebs today. Take this one for instance; it’s a spider in a house. But, this isn’t just any spider, it’s a Huntsman spider. Sometimes called the Crab Spider or Wood Spider, Huntsmans are uber fast and this little freakishly enormous female is on the prowl for a mate. Luckily for this camera man she isn’t poisonous.

So what do you do when you have a spider with a 9-inch leg span sitting on your wall? Grab your camera and your daughter of course. I think this video was more scary than Paranormal Activity.

Smart Ad Campaigns: Flies With Ads

When you were young, no doubt you’ve probably froze a fly (or bee) in your home’s freezer and tied a string to it for your own amusement. Well, a German company, Eichborn, took this idea to a whole new level. They tied real ads on flies with string and let them run lose at a convention. It’s probably the smartest ad campaign I’ve seen. Put it this way: if an ad flew and landed on me I have no doubt I would read it [and remember it]. Just look at 1:15 where the unsuspecting target audience were shocked to see the ad flying away. There’s only one problem: what’s PETA going to think about this?

Two-hundred Birds Massacred By One Airplane

PETA‘s going to hate this: about two-hundred starling birds were incinerated in seconds by a jet airplane. Not on purpose, mind you, but by flying in front of a Germania Boeing jet that was taking off at 200 mph. The pictures photographer, Juergen Kienast, said that the sound coming from the engines “was like sticking a bit of metal pipe into a blender.” Yuck.

A crash landing was diverted and no one on board was injured. As for the flock of birds, well, lets just say they’re in a better place… Yeah, that sounds good.
