Relive Ghost’s Most Memorable Sequence With ‘Unchained Melody’

May 30, 2010 by Troy

One of my all-time favorite movie is “Ghost.” I was very young when it came out but I can still remember everything about it; including Whoopi’s frizzy-ass hair. One of the most memorable sequences in the movie though, has to be when Patrick Swayze and Demi Moore where canoodaling while making pottery. It was at this moment I heard — for the first time — “Unchained Melody” by The Righteous Brothers. I have been in love with the song ever since.

So, in memory of Mr. Swayze and his unforgettable roll in Ghost, here’s Patrick himself, Demi Moore, Unchained Melody by The Righteous Brothers, and one of the most unforgettable love scenes ever filmed on video.

The Treasure Ship In Panama City Beach Goes Up In Flames

April 28, 2010 by Troy

I know this will not have anything to do with most (if not all) of you who read this blog, but for anyone living in Panama City Beach, Florida, today’s a very sad day. A well known and iconic restaurant has gone up in flames this afternoon. Yes, the Treasure Ship in Panama City Beach is on fire. It started around 3:30pm according to WMBB news, when firefighters were called to the restaurant.

Sure, I can hear you now, “restaurants catch on fire all the time.” But this isn’t just any restaurant. It’s the freaking Treasure Ship. This restaurant is a full-scale replica of Sir Frances Drake’s “Golden Hind” boat. Not only that, but this thing’s been through countless hurricanes, catered to millions I’m sure, and even has been hit by a tornado or two.

I hope the owners are able to salvage the “ship” and rebuild. Panama City Beach would be lost without it.

Caricatures: A Double-Edged Sword

August 18, 2009 by Troy

There’s two things funny about this picture. First, the fat little girl who has to sit there and let someone draw a caricature of herself. Then there’s the actual caricature itself, which looks so hilarious when compared to the annoyed look on the little girls face. Complete WIN.

When Buildings Get Demolished, They’re Not Supposed To Roll

August 4, 2009 by Troy

Except, that’s exactly what happened in this video. I’m no ‘esplosion expert, but I’ve seen enough buildings in Las Vegas explode that one could definitely call me one — *cough* if they wanted. Typically, pyrotechnicians have numerous explosives that go off in unison to make the building implode on itself, leaving nearby buildings unscathed. However, when this didn’t happen according to plan, the building starts rolling. As Kevin Pereira puts it on Attack of the Show, it’s almost like a real-life Katamari ball. Quaint.

Teacher Corrected By Student, Sent To Detention

July 29, 2009 by Troy

Check out this email that was sent to a childs parents from a teacher who had no clue what she was talking about. Even though the kid was clearly correct, the teacher still thought it was necessary to assign him detention. My favorite part of the email is the very end: “Alex would be better off simply accepting my teachings without resistance. Please see to it that your son understands this.” That’s exactly what we should be teaching kids. Even if you know that an answer is incorrect, shut up and don’t say anything. I smell a lawsuit. :)

Two Not-So-Kid-Friendly Carnival Ride Backgrounds

June 25, 2009 by Troy

I’m sure if my mother ever saw these two carnival ride backgrounds my eyes would have been covered so fast my head would have experienced whiplash. Lucky for me, I’m old enough now and can bask in the glory of artistry.

Fail Bot: Don’t Wear This T-shirt While Walking With Daughter

June 2, 2009 by Troy

As hot as you may think you are in that “Certified Muff Diving Instructor” t-shirt, it’s totally inappropriate when your hanging out with your daughter. Just an FYI, sir. Oh, and it’s even worse when you’re holding her hand.

Fail Bot: Enquirer Headline

May 30, 2009 by Troy

Oh, Enquirer, you’re so full of thought-provoking content. Except that time when you mistakenly put “Stolen Grocieries” as the headline when it really should have read “Homicide.” Boy, I bet the readers where in for a treat on that one.

Move Over Mario, Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing Has Arrived

May 29, 2009 by Troy

Man, I’m like all over the place with videos these past few days. Ok, ok. Are you getting tired of playing Mario Kart? Fear not my friends, Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing is ready to put you back in the wheels of non-stop-action racing. In the trailer above, we get to see what it’s like if Mario was thrown out of the race and Sonic took his place. The mechanics look the same: drive and shoot those in front of you. However, in lieu of shells we’ll have actual missles. Something I’ve been craving for ever since playing Diddy Kong Racing 64 back in the day. Oh, and being able to play as a pissed off Super Monkey Ball just makes me giddy.

Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing is heading to the Wii, Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and the Nintendo DS.
