StarCraft 2: Ghost of the Past Trailer Is EPIC
July 27, 2010 by Troy
It’s not every day a video game comes out with cinematic-quality goodness. Blizzard, well known for this in most of its games, has released yet another trailer for it’s upcoming StarCraft 2: Wings of Liberty. Unlike most trailers, however; this one is so epic that I felt as if I was watching an actual movie trailer. There’s loss, denial, explosions, and glowing-eye devil girls with skinless wings. What more could a gamer ask for? More action than the movie 300? You bet.

Blizzard Readying Gamers With New Cinematic Trailer
August 17, 2009 by Troy
Blizzard knows how to get its gamers going. Back in the day, when I used to play StarCraft, I would at times just click on the Windows explorer and browse the CD for the beautiful cinematic sequences. I remember the atomic bomb at the end of the game while playing as the Protoss and the numerous Terran lives that were lost to the Zerg. But, it’s this new StarCraft II cutscene thats got me wanting more. It’s got Protoss and the Zerg, one-man-creature-thing against a dozen alien-creepy-things — could you really ask for more? Hell. No.

Video: Pyro Love (Team Fortress 2)
July 19, 2009 by Troy
Give a gamer video recording software and see what he comes up with. Just look at this video. Although it’s a little long (around 8.5 minutes), Pyro Love is a very compelling video about friendship created from the game Team Fortress 2. The video’s creator, Pieter Braam and Peter Kapritias, do such a great job at making the video that I actually got sad when — wait. I’ll just let you watch the video. To further influence emotion, the two guys used music from Radiohead, Biosphere and Goldfinger. Pyro Love is a video that needs be up for the Webby Awards next year. Seriously, it’s so good that you’d think Pixar made it. So, grab a friend, cuddle up, and get to watching.

Drool-Worthy: Insanley Twisted Shadow Planet Trailer
July 18, 2009 by Troy
This is the holy grail of side-scrollers, guys. No joke. From the mind of Michel Gagné comes a beautiful, intricately animated, and brilliantly thought-out shooter, called Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet. This game is so visually appealing that it gives me goosebumps.
Straight from the horses mouth:
In 2007, Joe Olson and I discussed the idea of collaborating on a video game project. We imagined a side-scroller that would combine old school arcade style game play with feature film quality design and animation. Thus was born Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet.

June 1, 2009 by Troy
We’ve got it: Bioware’s HD version of the Star Wars: The Old Republic E3 trailer!
Yes, my friends, that’s Bioware and LucasArt’s Star Wars: The Old Republic, a new MMORPG coming to a home near you. If there’s anything I can say right now, it’s this: holy $&!@! This trailer is one of the best trailers I’ve ever seen for any Star Wars video game — hell, it’s even better than the movie trailers! Why can’t the movies be as awesome as this?
This first trailer comes to us courtesy of E3 2009, the expo that’s happening as I type. It was announced that The Old Republic will be the first-ever MMO RPG that’s completely voice dubbed for your hearing pleasure. Bioware, I bow before you.

New Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena Trailer
February 22, 2009 by Troy
Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena is a new first-person shooter for the Xbox 360, PC and Playstation 3. The above trailer for Assault on Dark Athena goes in to detail and gives a good glimpse on what the plots about. The game features voice talent from the one-and-only, Vin Diesel, and looks like a rather compelling addition to the series. The last Chronicles of Riddick game was widely accepted as a superior first-person shooter (at the time). Looks like fans of the game have something new to excite themselves over. For those of you with a next-gen console, happy “hunting.”
